I hope everyone had an enjoyable and memorable Christmas with loved ones near.
Ours was more laid-back than usual, but it was very good.
Our kitchen remodel project did not get finished in time to do many of our traditional Christmas festivities, including our annual party, but maybe it was a good year to take it easy?
I was determined not to let it get me down, but decided I needed to focus on the birth of our Savior and relationships with people around me.
I determined to be kind to everyone I came in contact with, even the kitchen workers who were telling me bad news.
They said they couldn’t believe how well I took the continuing disappointing news.
I was disappointed, but I knew it wasn’t really their fault, so why take it out on them?
It will eventually be done and it will be worth the wait.
I kept waiting for a day with a little sunshine to photograph around the house, but it didn’t end up happening before Christmas, so here are a few less than stellar photos.
This year I bought a huge roll of chalkboard paper to use for a table covering. It worked really well.
You can purchase it here: pacon chalkboard paper
I also purchased the chalkboard markers: superchalks
Cleanup was so easy!
You can see more of our Christmas on my IG feed.
Not much of a tour this year!
I’m already looking forward to a fresh start.
2014 was great, but I think 2015 will be even better.
I am starting the year off right by joining this study:
It’s going to be really good, I just know it!
I’m also very excited to do the 40/40 challenge again!
If you want to read just a little bit about it, here’s a little blog post from last year.
I didn’t start it today…last year I started the day after Christmas, but this year, I’m not quite ready.
I may start tomorrow, or I may wait a few more days, but I will definitely be documenting my progress on IG using the hashtag: 40bags40days2015
I hope some of you will join me again!
I’ll start a new FB page that you are welcome to join within a few days.
You’ll be able to click a link here and join in!
For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s basically a 40 day challenge to go through 40 areas of your home/car/life and gather 40 bags/boxes to donate or throw away.
Some areas won’t have tangible items to get rid of, but feel great nonetheless.
For example, I usually include my email inbox in my decluttering list.
Such a great feeling to get it cleared out or at least manageable!
I can’t wait!
God bless you!
