I have wanted to remodel our kitchen for 9 1/2 years.
Instead of doing it all at one time, it’s been a 4 stage process over the course of almost ten years.
Before we moved in, we stripped the wallpaper and painted.
Then about four years ago, I bartered for my beautiful lighting.
Sidenote: Don’t underestimate lighting. Great lighting is so important for visual as well as practical purposes.
So happy with the work Brad’s Electric did. Great to work with in every way.
The third step was all new appliances.
Absolutely couldn’t be more thrilled with my dual fuel GE Profile oven.
Gas stovetop, electric oven. Perfection.
The fourth and final step was having a new backsplash, counters and sink installed.
My friend Kelly helped me with the counters.
One of the reasons it took so long to get the kitchen finished was my fault.
I have loved Carrera marble for my whole adult life, but I have never had it in any of my nine houses over the years.
I was pretty bummed when I thought I would finally get it, only to discover that my cabinetry was much too warm for Carrera.
So I was froze up about making a decision.
Until Kelly showed me a sample of Torquay Quartz.
It is perfect.
So happy with how it turned out.
Here are a few more images with different angles.
We used CKF in Omaha for all of the supplies and labor, other than the backsplash. We ordered the beautiful handprinted tile from them, but had Classic Floors in Fremont do the installation of the backsplash.
There were a few glitches along the way, but nothing that couldn’t be worked out.
I really appreciated the work that Doug put into it to make the sink issues work out.
We thought it might have been March before we had the right sink installed, but here we are at the halfway point in January and it’s all finished.
Now, we just need to remodel three bathrooms and the laundry room and every room will be updated.
Tom may not agree : )
Hope your new year is off to a great start!
