we’re shooting a wedding today (which i’m super excited about! the venue is gorgeous!), but i wanted to share a recent family shoot. dakota is an absolute doll! she has obvious cuteness, and she’s sweet too! i loved the way this little family loves each other. oh and by the way, the shoot was a gift from a guy i admire a lot-michael, who is the mama of the family’s brother. he’s an amazing pastry chef at the hot new napa valley restaurant, bottega, working with michael chiarello. we chatted online (that sounds so napoleon dynamite!) last week, and some of the projects he has been working on sound unbelievably cool! four years ago, when i was just getting started with my photography business, lin schwanebeck (michael’s mom and a fabulous cook in her own right) took a chance on me for her daughter tamara’s wedding, with michael and of course tamara’s approval. the wedding was the perfect start for me. the wedding took place on the schwanebeck’s farm, complete with a huge white tent, and ambiance all around. i was new and fresh and they took a chance on me! click here to see some of my faves from the day ( i adore images 73 and 75 of michael and tam). i’ve progressed and upgraded cameras, but i still like the images. thank God! i was nervous and took a million shots that day. then i proceeded to stay up all night loading and sorting through them! not a lot has changed when i shoot a wedding these days. i may take a few less shots and have more confidence, but i’m never fully satisfied until i’ve loaded and viewed the shots from the day. it’s such a huge responsibility. anyway, this is about a family shoot : ) i had an absolute blast with these three! they were so easygoing, even in the heat!
the gift of a photo shoot is a wonderful gift, i think : )
God bless each of you!
