i don’t really know where to begin. there are so many things i want to remember….and write about so that they are properly documented. we definitely have photos to document the day! lots and lots of photos. i am not at all objective about the day or the photos. i am completely smitten with them and make no excuses. i don’t think there are many things, as a parent, that are more rewarding or satisfying, than to see your child (even if he is a man), marry someone who is so right for them…..someone who i can see loves him wholeheartedly and who he loves back the same way. to see the way they look at each other and recognize the depth of their love and commitment to each other. amazing. a real blessing to experience as a parent. i will be basking in the memories of the day for a long time. i think they will too : )
another huge blessing that i “felt” all day, was the feeling of support and love from our friends and family toward jared and beth….and us (if i’m going to be real honest). we felt the love. we are so blessed to have such an amazing family and such GREAT friends. i just have to say thank you to everyone who was there….and to those who called and emailed who weren’t able to be there. we love you and appreciate you all. not only do we have our own family who we love and adore, but we also love beth’s family. they are such warm, caring, thoughtful people. it’s obvious why jared fell in love with beth. she was raised in a wonderful family….and she’s beautiful inside and out. we are also very grateful that jared has been so warmly accepted into their family.
i think tom and i will remember jared and beth’s wedding day as one of the best days of our lives. so far, it’s right up there.
one of the first things everyone has asked me since j proposed and they set a date was, “will you take the photos?” i tried really hard not to force my ideas…..so when they told me that they (as well as beth’s family) were fine with me choosing the photographer, i could have jumped for joy! seriously, that was thee single most important detail for me. i pretty much knew right away, what i was comfortable with as far as what shots i wanted to be involved with and who i wanted to cover the day. cara is not only my buddy, she is a wonderful, talented photographer. i knew that i could trust the day to her. we met several times to talk about the plan for the day….and one of the things we discussed at our first meeting, was a live photo booth. cara made it happen and i can not wait to see the images! cara had an assistant, amanda with her all day and they were both just awesome!!!! i can’t say enough. they were troopers, working and staying positive all day. i loved having them. i’m looking forward to seeing all the shots they took, but i have made a vow to myself and to them, that i won’t bug them!
i need to wrap up part 1 of my synopsis of the day. i’ll continue this tomorrow, because i can’t not tell you about donna (my bestie, sidekick, most loyal friend any girl could have!), my precious, outrageously fun bagels, the cutest, funniest flower girl EVER, and lots of other details of the day.
for now, i will share some of the shots that i took before the wedding and when we went out on location before the ceremony….be still my heart….
the guys all went golfing the morning of the wedding, so when jared told me that he would just shower and get ready at our house, i was thrilled. he hasn’t lived “at home” for 6 or 7 years, so i was thrilled that he decided to get ready here.
scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking. this jenni bowlin calendar is perfect for highlighting the date!

i had the idea to use this prop from the time my friend julie (courtney’s mom) told me that she wrote, “happily ever after” on their chalkboard countdown to the wedding. thanks julie : )
i know we shot a lot at this location, but it’s just so picturesque for a fall wedding, i couldn’t help myself!
beth’s dress was so beautiful and so perfect for her…she looked stunning!
i adore the depth of field on this one. adore.
this one will be on a canvas soon : )

there is so much pressure on the couple on their wedding day….jared and beth handled all the paparrazzi and pressure so well!
i only took about 40o photos throughout the weekend, but i know that cara took about a million, so this is going to be quite overwhelming!
okay, i better stop before wordpress blows up! part 2 tomorrow!
God bless each of you!
