for a day of inspiration and productivity! our guest room is filled with garage sale goods. i don’t know how to emphasize the amount of goods i’m talking about here sufficiently. i have been feeling bogged down lately. i need to pare down, yet again, which i know will free me up creatively. so if anyone is interested in coming for a pre-sale on friday evening, let me know. i am opening it up to a few friends and blog readers the night before the actual sale. so far i have 12 boxes of crafty supplies. i have much more to go through today. last year, i did sort of theme packaging and i’m planning to do that again. so email me if you’re interested in the pre-sale and i’ll give you the details.
last night, i went to the tat shop with tom. i am always impressed with nasr’s approach to his art. i took some shots of the process which i’ll share later this week. and speaking of tats, i designed a tat last week. our friend gabby asked me about designing it a few weeks ago. while tom and i were in minneapolis, i bought a new sketch book and an adorable set of mini colored pencils. i sat in our hotel room one night and sketched it out. very fun. gabby picked up the sketch and had it done sunday. i was surprised by the emotion i experienced when i saw the actual tattoo. i was almost giddy…i had butterflies and just wanted to keep staring at it! i have this weird personal opinion about tattooes. i was finally able to figure it out yesterday. i don’t think i could turn my body over to someone to mark permanantly. even if i designed my own tat, i just can’t picture myself doing it. one thing that i know, is that my vision of myself as an older woman (i’m talking 70 or more), doesn’t include ink. just my personal choice. i do admire the artistic aspect of tats. tom has quite a few now, so obviously i’m not anti-ink for everyone…just myself. i do love to photograph people with tats. in fact, it was all i could do not to ask nasr if i could do a photoshoot of him. he has a cool look. i’m looking forward to doing an engagement shoot on saturday with ink shots.
this past weekend, leah and i hung out quite a bit. we went to an estate sale (which she has wanted to do for a while…not sure if it was as cool as she thought it might be!), we had micky d breakfast, we went to our church’s work/cleanup day and cleaned every pew and chair in the sanctuary, then she went and cleaned up and we did a mini-photoshoot.
she’s sort of a little rocker…taking guitar lessons.
people have told us that we look alike since leah was little. i thought maybe her resemblance to me had gone away….but maybe not?
after leah’s shoot, trev and lauren came to the loft for prom shots. they looked STUNNING!!!
love, love, love her shoes….actually her whole ensemble! lauren has so much class and sophifistication. can’t wait to do her senior photos! and trev’s too! trev and i have already made location plans.
i love this dude like my own.
trev’s boutinere and lauren’s wrist corsage were so unique and cool. lauren’s mom, cami was telling me that they (lauren and cami…not trev : ) went to a class a few weeks before prom at a new cottage business in town and made them! i need to get details about this new business…i know the lady who started it and it sounds awesome!
trev and lauren left and jacqui and keith arrived-
i took their prom photos last year and they were so shy! not so this year! they are still together and i think they’re pretty into each other!
keith is my friend suzy’s son and he is the sweetest heart. and a sweet heart in a dude is a sort of rare and wonderful trait…that’s what i’m thinking anyway.
this is lindsey (suzy’s daughter) and her boyfriend cody.
this shot SCREAMS young love to me. i love it.
this is james, cody’s brother and his date. they were so sweet! love her dimple!
the loft worked out so well for these shots. it was nasty and cold outside, so it was great to have a place to shoot!
God bless your day!
