happy days..

even though it is about as gloomy outside as it can get, i’m lighthearted and happy today. i started the day at an estate sale and my favorite junk shop. i ran a few errands and then came home and did a little online shopping(i love jcrew!). all in all, a great morning! i found some great stuff-fostoria pedestal cake plate, adorable little white suitcase, small glass jar with a red lid, a hot pink tablecloth that just happens to fit perfectly on my dining room table (i have visions of my white plates and pretty cloth napkins to finish the look!) and a wooden clipboard. very fun stuff.

i’m also looking forward to tonight. we haven’t been very organized with our cooking club get togethers, so tonight, we’re meeting at my house with our calendars and carryout. we’re all bringing our favorite carryout (to share). after we eat and get some dates figured out, we’re going to have a crafty night. we’re planning to make gift tags and cards for Christmas. i can’t wait! i am going to start gathering supplies this afternoon.

recently, i met brandi and her girls at the loft for a photo session. brandi always does a great job with outfits for her girls (i think this is the 3rd session i’ve done with them)and this time she outdid herself. she did something else that i thought was really brilliant. she bought an adorable tea set for the girls and kept it for them until the shoot. so when she pulled it out, it was completely new to them and they were so into it! smart mama!

the beauty of this session was that they basically just played. i had a ton of fun and i think they did too. thanks brandi.

so today is off to a great start. i’m planning to get some rearranging done in my living room today, before the girls get here. nothing like having people over to motivate. although i have clients in my home almost every day, so that’s not always true!

have a great weekend!

God bless!

November 13, 2009 - 10:24 pm Kim - Hi Becky! I love your photography...it has always inspired me. I am just a very very amateur photographer who likes taking pictures of her kids and who loves to scrapbook them. (My family thinks I'm crazy because I take so many pictures of so many things.)I know nothing about technique or anything important like that, but even so, I have learned so much about the art of photography from studying what you (and others) put out there. Because of you, I have so many pictures of my kids that I love and will always cherish. I see things differently through my camera than I did before. I take shots that I never would have taken before. I see beauty in a different way now, and I'm so glad for that. The shot of you on your tummy taking pictures while the little girl is sitting on top of you is just priceless...how I love shots like that:) And the shot you took of the little girl in the tutu from up above is breathtaking. Just wanted to say thank you for all the inspiration. I always look forward to seeing your latest photos. Kim

November 15, 2009 - 9:22 pm Patti Mullican - Pics on the last two posts are so great. Just love the ones of the young man with the parka especially. Looking forward to seeing some of your holiday decorating photos. Going to try and complete the Advent Calendar I started last year and which was inspired by yours. Thanks as always for inspiring! P.S. Some peeks of pics from the photo shoot w/ our friend from church. He's no Becky Novacek and you can only do so much w/ us, but I was pleased w/ how they turned out. Would love to know what you think and get some feed back. ;)
