i’m sorry if you’re tired of reading my thoughts about the wedding! it’s just front and center in my life right now. as i wrote yesterday, i’m trying to absorb and savor every moment of this amazing time. it’s been so much fun already…i can’t even imagine how much more fun we’ll have at the actual wedding!
more random things on my mind:
- back when we were working on invitations, i wrote about how stressful that was to me. with jared being out of the house for so long, many of our “newer” friends don’t really know him that well. so it was difficult to figure out who to invite. of course, there were lots of people who were obviously on the list. last night, i discovered through chance that 2 couples who we love and wouldn’t think of not inviting, didn’t receive their invitations. what a nightmare! it makes me want to confirm that everyone we sent invites to, received them. according to proper ettiquette, the RSVPs are sent to the bride’s parents, so i’m not sure who has even RSVP’d from our list. i guess it’s too late to do much about, but still, i feel horrible. ugh.
- my mom. it has hit me several times as we’ve been anticipating this wedding, how thankful i am that mom’s health hasn’t declined. other than having to have fluid removed from her chest every couple of months, life has been pretty good for her. she did fall a couple of weeks ago and hurt her knee, but that seems to be healing. tom is having his knee scoped next week, so we were teasing them, that they could have their knees scoped together. mom was diagnosed with mesothelioma right before greyson was born and the prognosis is not good with this diagnosis, so we wondered if she would get to know grey and then when jared and beth were engaged, we wondered if she would be okay for the wedding….and by God’s grace and lots of prayers, she is!
- we have a couple of family members who have the flu…could you please pray for them? there is so much sickness around. it seems like everyone i know has at least one family member home sick. i just hope and pray everyone is healthy by saturday. i’m pumping vitamins and drinking lots of water.
- totally unrelated….but on my mind from my readings this morning. i’m baffled by people who are Christians, but have no passion, joy, peace, gratitude for life, or outward showing of love for others? i know there are seasons in life when you go through tough things and it’s more challenging….i get that. but the Word says that the world will know us by our love. also, i know that going to church is only part of faith, but i don’t get it when Christians don’t have the desire to be in church? that’s always a red flag for me….if i don’t feel like going to church, it’s usually a sign of something being out of balance. my thoughts outloud.
- whitney houston….sounds more and more like dionne warwick. random, i know.
- i loved the book, “french women don’t get fat”….and now mireille guiliano has a new book out called, “women, work, and the art of savoir faire”. i can’t wait to read it! love her philosophy.
- one more thing: i’m really behind on emails. please forgive me. i’m trying to keep up, but i’m failing! i appreciate each and every one and will catch up next week!
i couldn’t wait to share some shots from jason and abby’s wedding! so here you go-
as crazy as it was that it snowed saturday, it made for some cool shots-
i think i may have jumped up and down when i saw the 10 on this cool door. october 10th…how perfect!
the church that they were married in is so beautiful! it’s also the church that tom grew up in…so that made it even more so to me!
The War of the Roses full
the snow and fallen leaves do make pretty photos.
this shot from below up to the balcony, may be my favorite.
at one point of the day both flowergirls had tear-filled eyes and smiles….
she was totally posing before she walked down the aisle : )
this certainly looks like happily ever after to me!
you know i love my roots….so i’m saying this from a place of love….i love the agriculture represented in the background and the kid riding his bike right by the attendants! so classic small town nebraska!
i hope you love your sneak peeks jason and abby! you and your families and friends are the warmest, most wonderful people and we were lucky to be a part of your day. thank you!
God bless your day!
