refreshed and ready to get to work…

there’s just something about getting out of your routine that changes perspective. i was feeling a little overworked, stressed, pressured, and slightly uninspired until i got away! it was a 40 hour getaway to florida and yet i feel like i was gone for a week! i didn’t think about the pressure i was putting on myself with my work at all! now, i have a fresh perspective and feel energized. i needed that! so if you haven’t gotten away in a while, i strongly recommend it. it never fails to make me more effective and productive. well, at least in theory.

the trip was totally fun, no stress, well other than on the flight home…and that was pretty much “over the top” bad! i have never been so scared on a flight- not even close. we hit some turbulance, which doesn’t typically bother me much, but then we ascended really quickly and then dropped. when that was happening, i had the thought “this is it, we’re going down” and then i felt like i was going to pass out and everything went black for a split second. i didn’t pass out, i just felt really weird. people were screaming, we(kelly, becca and i…so glad we had each other!) were praying outloud….totally freaky experience. but our prayers were answered and we made it. i guess i take flying pretty much for granted? not so much now. not sure how i’ll feel when i get on a plane again in a few weeks.

i took these after our scare…..these clouds may look pretty and innocent, but they were killer!

anyway, we landed in orlando and went directly to the convention center. it was the smallest CHA ever. both in size and attendance, i would say. i did take some photos of my favorite things and will share those early next week. i enjoyed walking the show and taking it in from a different view. it does make me a little sad that the industry has changed so much since my first show 5 or 6 years ago. i do appreciate that there are companies that have made it successfully through the economic crunch.

yesterday, we opted to go to prime outlets rather than back to the show. we had already covered the show pretty thoroughly, so we thought shopping sounded good. and it was! we all scored some awesome finds! the outlets here are pretty lame, so seeing brands like: 7 for all mankind, jcrew, banana, coach, cole haan….all sounded intriguing to us. we had a nice lunch and headed to the airport. the three of us were/are so compatible, which makes traveling so nice! i loved our time together more than anything else! that’s a quick synopsis until next week!

i do have some peeks for the divis family…who have been waiting patiently! the weather was threatening the entire time we shot, but it all worked out just fine. love their choice of colors!

i hope you like these peeks divis family!time for me to get to work! have a great day and God bless!

Shelley - I am so glad you and your friends are o.k. I will be praying that God gives you peace on your next flight. The friend I told you about who just found out she has breast cancer is having a radical mastectomy tommorow at 1:00 her name is Consuelo. She is the best mom you could ever see. Please pray that the dr.s get all the cancer as they are also taking all her Lymphnodes too see how bad it is. SAhe knows that God is going with her just like you knew he was with you on that plane. Thank you so much my online friend. By the way the divas family photos are so great. Love how all the women have the same hairstyle…too cute!
