I am so thankful for my clients.

The reason I started taking photos was because I knew what kind of photos I wanted to take and print of my loved ones, and at the time I couldn’t find anyone who was a good fit for what I wanted.

I also wanted to use photos in a big way in my home, so it was important to me to have photos that worked as art.

I started my photography business because as my family and friends saw my photos, they asked me to take their photos.

And it just grew from there, and I have basically built it on word of mouth and social media exposure.

One of the most satisfying aspects of my job is creating photos and then helping my clients use the photos as art in their homes…and then seeing the photos I’ve taken in their homes.

Sometimes I see their social media photo posts of their homes either as the highlight or background with their photos on the walls or desktops, and it is the best feeling!

I am blessed to have the BEST people to photograph!

I feel like a broken record speaking of how amazing my clients are, and how well they do with choosing outfits and loving each other in a way that photographs authentically…but it’s really the truth!

God bless!

In one week, I will have been in my loft studio for ten years.

Ten great years, with lots of changes, and solid business growth.

God prepared me through a series of very humble jobs before I started a full-time photography career.

Those humble jobs were my training ground more than any formal or informal studies I’ve done.

Study is necessary, but attitude and life experience are golden.

That is, if we learn the lessons.

If we refuse the lessons of life, we keep getting hard knocks until we get it.

Treating others as we want to be treated, The Golden Rule is a necessary lesson.

AND it’s biblical.

I don’t think I’m special and don’t mean to sound preachy, I just want to encourage anyone who is working a humble job, with dreams of doing a job they are passionate about…that it is possible.

It all starts with gratitude and hope.

Hating your current job, but staying stuck because of fear of failure, is a bad spot to be in, but it’s a choice most of the time.

The lives we are living right now, are the result of our choices…with the exception of health or tragedy.

But even in poor health and tragedy, we still make a choice to live with certain attitudes.

I know so many people who are fighting cancer right now, but they are doing it with such grace, dignity and tenacity.

It makes me want to be like them!

I started off this post, just wanting to say I am grateful for such amazing clients,

but, I went off on a topic that I am so passionate about: encouraging people to live a life that honors God and who He created each one of us to be.

It’s interesting that I am sharing photos of beautiful, happy Junie today…because if I had a child in the school system right now, Junie’s parents would be my dream teachers and coaches.

I have no doubt they are the best!

I love that at six months, she is looking right at the camera in this moment!

God bless!

I remember photographing Dawson and Drew when they were just little guys.

I’ve always enjoyed photographing the whole family, including their extended families on both sides.

Kyle and Amy, Dawson and Drew’s parents are wonderful people, and have done a fine job of raising great young men.

This isn’t something I write easily or speak of lightly.

I enjoyed watching them stand back and watch Dawson during his session.

They didn’t seem stressed and didn’t fuss once over anything, including having to jumpstart a car at one point.

They stood together and were smiling through the whole thing, it seemed that they truly enjoyed the experience.

They were so supportive too, in whatever he needed.

I guess you would say that I was not only impressed by Dawson, but also his parents 🙂

I feel like I get the cream of the crop as far as my client’s go!

God bless!
