I need to take care of a little business first off today. Sometimes I get busy rambling and forget about necessary business stuff.

It’s definitely NOT too early to book your high school senior photos! I’ve been booking 2013 Seniors for weeks now and I am so happy that people are thinking ahead! I’d like to add a perk for those booking before May….how about 2012 pricing for 2013? If you book after May 1, pricing will be 2013 pricing. For those of you who have already scheduled a session, I’ve made note on your info sheet that you will receive 2012 pricing.  I’m not raising prices dramatically for Senior packages, but I am going to be adding some really cool values, and I can’t justify that without changing the pricing slightly. Very excited about the added value. Think very custom wallet presentation. Email me at beckynovacekphotography@gmail.com with any questions or to schedule your session!

And regarding my post yesterday, you still have time to comment and have a chance for a free spot in Jen’s Workshop!

This week has been another busy one around here, but I can honestly say that I’m gaining ground! I made a point to stay home and work as much as possible. I always work a lot, but this week, it has been more than normal! Lots of graduation invitation designing. Lots of editing. Lots of projects. It’s all good…and today I feel a real sense of accomplishment. So next week, I’m already planning to take an afternoon and evening off to spend time with friends. Can’t wait.

After two trips within weeks of each other in late January and mid February, I have been more than ready to eat at home. Even though there’s been a lot going on, I’ve made time to cook. I’ve been trying lots of new recipes…some from Martha, some from Pinterest. Here’s what I’ve been making:

Beef Skewers with Peanut Dipping Sauce - This recipe might be as close to the best possible compromise between Tom’s beef eating and my not so meaty taste. I was able to enjoy the rice and sauce, with just a little meat and we both enjoyed the steamed broccoli on the side. Definitely a keeper.

Terrific Tuscan Vegetable Soup - Tom was surprisingly receptive to this. He walked in the house and commented on how good it smelled. He ate it with a great attitude, no complaints about the lack of meat. We’ll be having it for lunch again today. VERY low calorie and healthy.

Parmesan Potato Stacks - A recent recipe that I found on pinterest. I haven’t made this yet, but it’s on cue for tonight, alongside a huge t-bone steak that our friends John and Donna gave us. Beef that they actually raised. Tom is going to a church men’s group tonight, but I’m going to send him off with a happy tummy.

One more personal share before I share peeks. Did anyone see the Rue magazine cover? I do love that online mag….so much eye candy and fun info. The cover caught my attention, because my table and chairs(not literally mine, just similar) are featured. The ones that I will probably be selling : ( As beautiful as they look, they aren’t working out the way I need them to. Sometimes, I hate being practical.

The images that I’m going to share today are from a recent session with Jenefer and her family. Jenefer owns In Bloom, which is a charming floral shop on Main Street here in Fremont…it’s located right around the corner from the Loft. I know that I’ve posted about her Christmas decorating workshop in the past. She typically does a FREE workshop with great tips on decorating your tree for the holidays. Insider stuff…with lots of aha moments as she shares her tips. I hope she does another one this year…and I hope it’s on a Saturday that I’m free! I hadn’t met her family before our session, so it was fun to meet them and see their fun dynamic! I guess I had met Lily, their adorable pup. She’s a riot.

The girls.

She brought great props!

The boys brought no props, but they can jump!

The wind was blowing like crazy, but we found a little sheltered spot and my faithful Tommy met us with a vintage couch. LOVE this family shot. I know that Jenefer prefers a vintage or mocha vibe…and I think it works.

How cute are they?

Almost as cute as the kiddos.

Behind Mama’s shop.

This one might be my fave?

Have a great weekend and God bless!

March 10, 2012 - 12:42 pm Patti Mullican - Might be one of my fav sessions lately. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work and life with all of us. I've been so busy I don't get a chance to pop in very often anymore, but love when I do! Have a great weekend!
