This morning I’m reflecting on Easter. Our church service yesterday was one of the most meaningful and touching services I’ve experienced in years. I wonder if it has more to do with me? or with God? In any case, everything seemed to come together and align perfectly. I know that sometimes I fail to go to church with the right attitude. But even when I do, God meets me there and I almost always leave with a transformed attitude. The message at church yesterday was based on verses in Matthew and the focus was true worship. I left with an overwhelming sense of love for the Lord and for people…even people who aren’t always easy to love! I love this verse and even have it on our bedroom wall:
“Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.” I Peter 4:8
I love that God’s Word has the power to change one’s heart.
I know I’ve mentioned that I’m happy to be running outside again. Recently, I’ve been listening to Rick Warren’s series called, “40 days in the Word”. I have one more message to listen to and I’m already looking forward to a series he’ll be doing next about simplifying life. I know I need that! Anyway, it’s been very informative and I’ve been pondering what I’ve been learning. Lots about not only reading the Bible, but hearing it, studying and memorizing. Very insightful. I haven’t even pulled out my Easter decorations, but I am definitely mentally into Easter this year.
There’s so much I want to share today, so I hope you’ll bear with me as I switch gears…a lot.
The new JBS kit is available with the design team projects posted. You can see them here. The new exclusive chevron stamp is brilliant! I know I will use it again and again! I also wanted to make sure that you knew that the Jenni has some of her classic designs available through Silhouette! I’ve been cutting like crazy! AND she also has digital designs available now. Fun stuff even for those who are not scrapbookers. Great stuff for crafters or party planners.
I also noticed that the new Amy Tan sketchbook collection is available at 2Peas! Yay!
My cart is overflowing and will be even more so now!
Next subject! I’ve been sharing our menu plan for the past few weeks now on Mondays…and I think it’s something that you’re enjoying? I’ve had a few people email to tell me they tried some of the recipes we’re tried. The Cashew Chicken Wraps seem to be a hit with everyone! I crave them every week now! I just don’t want to burn Tom out.
Here’s our plan this week:
Monday: Dinner out with friends at Blanc to celebrate Glue’s birthday! We met Brooke, Josh and the kiddos there for my bday dinner and it is YUMMY!
Tuesday: Bacon-Corn Chowder Cooking Light (this is a new to me recipe. I have a tried and true recipe that I can’t find! I need to find it…but I do want to try this version too)
Wednesday: Grilled Burgers, Parmesan Stacked Potatoes and Broccoli
Thursday: Chicken Caesar Salad (this was supposed to be on last week’s menu, but I didn’t have Romaine Lettuce and didn’t want to go to the store at the last minute)
Easter Sunday: Bone-in Ham, Cheesy Potatoes (Brooke), Layered Salad (Mom & Dad), Pasta Salad and THEE dessert. Mom and I used to make this dessert that we called THE dessert. The crust is butter, flour and pecans, the next layer is cream cheese and whipped cream, the next layer is chocolate or pistachio pudding and then topped with another layer of whipped cream. I had forgotten about it, until I saw a similar recipe on Pinterest. I love Pinterest.
This weekend was so beautiful. I had a photo session, we went to Gringos with Donna and Jamie, we met Ryan, Jennifer and the kids for dinner at their Club and sat on the patio (gorgeous!) to celebrate sweet Molly’s 7th birthday! we went to church, I went on a Harley ride (haha!), ran, grilled and ate outside and sat for a LONG time…could still be sitting there, if not for life moving on.
I had been looking forward to this weekend’s session for some time. I met with Alycia and Isaac for an iced tea and to chat about her vision for Isaac’s one year photos. I just adore this little family. They love their baby boy so much.
Alycia’s mom made his suit. MADE it!
Isaac really didn’t care for the tall grass : )
Her mom also made his adorable monogramed shirt.
His wagon was a first birthday gift. So awesome!
What a precious face!
He’s a blessed baby.
LOVE. LOVE.
He didn’t mind the grass as much when there was a cake involved.
and one last shot….
Precious boy, precious family. I am blessed.
God bless YOU!
