vague, right? I have been compiling a list of widely ranging things that have caught my attention recently. I do love lists.
*b* list of recent notables:
- Mini Boden. I’ve always enjoyed looking at their wonderful catalogs and the online catalog, but recently, as I looked through the catalog, several things occurred to me. 1. The clothes are truly for children and not flirtatious or inappropriate. They are actually wholesome, but not prudish. Colorful, playful and full of patterns, not too matchy. 2. They are inspiring to look at. I’ve actually been inspired to make things when I look at the ruffles, applique designs, and layering. I’ve also been inspired by the photos…so carefree and full of movement. One never knows when or what will inspire.
- JCP. What in the world is going on with JCPenneys? The first clue for me that something was different was when Donna mentioned the new catalog. She was impressed with it and thought they had stepped up their game. I filed that away and then a few days later, a commercial caught my eye. I was enthralled with it and couldn’t wait to see what company was behind it…super clever, with clean scenes and fun music. NOT the screaming one!

I ended up shopping a little. I picked up these and this. $26 total. Seriously. I’ll let you know how it works out. I haven’t purchased anything from jcp since grade school. But this new ad campaign got my attention.
- Jason Wu for Target. We stopped by a small Target store to check it out, but by 2 in the afternoon there was very little left, and only large sizes. A couple of items that I liked weren’t available online, so I’m out on this one. I did score when Missoni hit Target, so I guess I’ll be happy with that.
- ALT Design Summit. I’ve enjoyed reading all of the recaps on various blogs. Very fun to live vicariously! She shared up and coming blogs. She shared favorite cards. She shared her thoughts and feelings. and my most favorite of all, she shared highlights and quotes…so that some of us who weren’t there, could learn and be inspired. I especially loved the quote from Joslyn about how there’s room for everyone. That is the attitude that I’ve tried to have about photography- especially locally. I get annoyed with anyone who slams their peers and contemporaries. That’s fear and insecurity rearing it’s ugly head. I try not to allow even a subtle bit of this into my business. Positive begets positive.
- One more recent notable…

David is already 5 months old!
I hope your day is going well!
God bless!
