a *b* list of sorts….

i’m going to do a different sort of list today. since i skipped it last week, due to busy-ness, i feel a need to do SOMETHING this week!

*b* list of recent things:

  • scrapbooking: before i went to see tara, i did a couple of layouts for the new release for jenni bowlin…and then did one more while i was there:

this one is for the fiskars website. they will be featuring a project a day for the whole month of september and it’s national sewing month!

this is t’s dining room table. we spent two evenings and half a day scrapbooking. i made 8 layouts! it was heavenly! i even made 3 layouts just for me. i think t made 9 layouts….she’s usually really fast, so i was pretty pleased that i almost kept up with her!

  • just hanging out.

t with her girls savannah and ava…..who i felt like i knew before i went.

photo c0urtesy of tara’s patient husband michael :) he was a gem during my visit.

i am so thankful to have *met* t through 2peas over 5 years ago. our friendship has been a huge blessing in my life. it’s so good to have a friend who knows and loves me as i am.

  • cooking and eating healthy. between seeing the movie “julie and julia” and visiting t, i am on fire for cooking! AND eating healthy! i’m on this anti-process food kick. when i bought groceries yesterday, i spent most of my time in the produce section! our fridge is stuffed with good fresh food. the problem for me, is making the time to go to the market more often, so that the fresh food is always on hand, ya know? tara is so good about not having junk in the house and offering her girls healthy meals and snacks. they ask before they get snacks after school! also, she makes the most delish homemade dressing for salad, i am actually craving salad now! tom and i may walk around smelling like a garlic factory, but it’s worth it! she also made her “thai braised beef” which she told me about and sent me the recipe when we first met. i had never made it, but after tasting it, i WILL be making it. i think tom will love it too!
  • movies. tom and i used to go to movies often. it was a favorite pastime, especially in the winter. recently, we have not seen as many, but maybe this winter we will start again…if there are any that actually interest us. i’ve written almost daily about how much i loved “julie and julia”. so when t suggested maybe we could see a movie, i was all over it! we both read a lot, and had both read “my sister’s keeper”, so we decided to brave the sad topic and go. yeah, we knew going in it was going to be a tearjerker, but it was ridiculous! we both said that if we had watched it at home, we would have been sobbing. i don’t think i’ve ever watched a movie and swallowed more lumps in my throat. or dried my tears with my sleeve more. crazy sad and emotional. but i’m glad we went :)
  • wedding plans. the invitations are out. (which is in my opinion one of the toughest parts of a wedding. not the writing out, as much as the guest list in general. especially if your “child” is older and has been through college and basically has made their own life. do you invite friends who don’t really know him? where do you draw the line? i never want anyone to have hurt feelings about not being invited and yet i don’t want anyone to feel obligated either. tough decisions) but it’s done. i love how the invites turned out. the guest book arrived this week too. i think it turned out beautifully!

all digital frames from swiss miss designs….love them!

so the wedding plans seem to be coming together well, which is good since it’s only 6.5 weeks from now!

i have some sneak peeks for the sellers family. julie is our daughter in law jennifer’s sister. i knew that jack loved trains, so as i drove to the loft to meet them, i thought of a location for some shots that i thought would make jack happy.
